Hi there. After the success of Brandon’s first online class, teaching students how to use Unity to make a 3D game (1600 students and counting!), we’ve just hit publish on another video series on the online learning platform, Skillshare.
This one is for creating a 2D platformer game – think Super Mario Bros. on the NES… pure classic!
The class is called: Make a 2D Platformer Video Game with Unity and PlayMaker (no coding required).
Because of Skillshare’s new class requirements (short and sweet), this class is split into a series of 4. So all in all there are 4 x classes, at the end of which you will have created an awesome 2D platforming game. If you have a Skillshare membership it doesn’t cost you any extra to enroll in 4 vs. 1, and in a way it’s easier to keep on top of. Alternatively, you can take the full class for a one off fee on the site: One Month Game School here.
In the video series for class 2 we cover:
And all of this without writing a line of code, thanks to the power of the awesome Unity plugin: PlayMaker! The owners of PlayMaker, Hutong Games, have been gracious enough to give all students of this class a free student copy of PlayMaker – a fab bonus for taking this class, too!
“Exactly what I needed to begin my journey into game development. I will DEFINITELY take ANY other classes taught by Brandon Wu! Thank you Brandon!!”
– Nicholas Mitchell
“Time and money well spent. I have no coding experience at all but thanks to this class I feel much more confident about game dev process. Thanks for this amazing class!”
– Sung Kim (Animator)
“Brandon Wu’s class was simply the most richest online educational experience I’ve ever had! So much content, so much detail, and so so much fun! I would recommend this class to anyone who has even the slightest of interest in how games are made. I’ve paid 50 times more for an online class, and this has been the best!”
– Brian Anderson
“Great class!! Enjoyed making the projects. The amount of information covered in 4 weeks, was just right. Instructor was knowledgeable and supportive.”
– Greg D.
